By divine movement of God, Dr. James Heard became the leader of the ministry.  God has continued to bless this ministry through the gifts he has placed in his life.  Being an astute businessman, in December 2001 Dr. Heard acquired a new church facility at 303 West Fourth Street in Cahokia.  The church was completely remodeled with most of the work being performed by the members of the church.

   On August 19, 2005, our church was demolished by a fire that destroyed two-thirds of the amenities.  After the fire, the ministry relocated to 3921 Mississippi Avenue in Cahokia, Illinois and God continued to bless and add to the ministry.

   After more than two years of being displaced by the fire, God was setting-up the ministry for one of its greatest blessings to date.  The new church home for its congregation located at 535 State Route 3, Cahokia, Illinois.  The new edifice is a state-of-the-art, 15,000 square feet facility which has maximum seating capacity of 600 plus, under the first phase.  The future phases will include a full gymnasium, a separate daycare building and additional classrooms.

   In November of 2010, Dr. Heard started New Destiny College of Theology, a satellite school of Midwest College of Theology.  The school opened with an enrollment of 30 students.  On May 28, 2011, the school graduated its first class which consisted of 18 Associate Degrees, 8 Bachelor Degrees, 1 Master’s Degree and 3 Doctorate Degrees.  New Destiny College of Theology was awarded “School of the Year” for having the highest number of students in attendance.

   In 2012, under the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Heard changed the name of the ministry to New Destiny Ministries.  Dr. Heard states that New Destiny Ministries is anointed to help men and women from all walks of life discover their destiny in life.
